38 years old, married to the fabulously supportive Cath with two pretty cool daughters aged 5 and 13. I cycled and played rugby when I was at school and university but stopped when work started. I was very out of shape when I was 29 so decided to do something.
I started running and went from nothing to doing the London Marathon in 2002 and again in 2003 and 2006. Also, New York in 2003, Edinburgh and Abingdon in 2008 and a couple others.
I concentrated on cycling in my build-up to the Etape 2009 which went really well. I'm loving cycling again but still trying to keep running.
I recently retrained as a primary school teacher. This has taken up so much of my time that running has taken a backseat but I have started again in my attempt to run the Brighton Marathon, this time with my brother.
